We are pleased to offer for sale the business and assets of a waste gasification plant situated in the Midlands which has been developed to process pelletised RDF and wood into syngas. Significant investment has been made in the plant to date, with the potential for the plant to be upgraded further.
Company Overview:
The plant has been developed as a full scale demonstration facility/centre of excellence at an approximate cost of £35m, for the processing of pelletised RDF and wood to produce syngas.
Planning consent was granted for processed (pelletised) waste to energy plant with capacity of up to 25,000tpa of waste and export electricity to the grid.
The plant can process different types of feedstocks and generates syngas for renewable obligation certificates (ROCs) accredited electricity generation.
Deutz 2032 V12 gas engine capable of generating 2.62 MWe (Existing grid connection allows export of 3.8MWA).
Large leasehold site of c.4 acres (1.6 Ha) situated in the Midlands.
Further investment is required to allow continuous operation of the plant, with the potential to also upgrade the plant to a fuels production facility.
As a demonstration facility the plant is currently loss making with annual operational costs of c.£2m.
Note that the intellectual property to the process is not part of this sale but will need to be obtained separately by application to the original IP licensors. The use/sale as an operating plant will therefore be subject to negotiations with this party.
