We are pleased to offer for sale the business and assets of a state of the art Plastic Film Recycling Plant located in the north of England. The newly built plant, which utilises two patented technologies, has been developed to process mixed waste plastic into a post-consumer recycled (PCR) polymer to supply to global consumer brands.

The Opportunity:

  • EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will require plastic packaging placed on the market to have a minimum 35% recycled content by 2030, increasing to 65% from 2040, creating a significant increase in demand for recycled plastic.
  • The plant, developed to use breakthrough plastic recycling technology which separates mixed plastics to provide a high level of purity, offers immediate entry into the plastics recycling market.
  • The fully developed plant has received investment of c.£13m and is expected to generate strong profitability once commissioned.

Plant Overview:

  • Waste Plastic Type – Post-consumer mixed flexible plastic
  • Equipment – 2 x recycling lines and 2 x pre-compounding lines
  • Plant Capacity – 26,000 tons of feedstock per annum
  • Product Output – 17,500 tons Mono-layer film, 8,200 Multi-layer film
  • Facility – A modern 70,000 sq ft building held on a 10 year lease
  • Permit – Waste Permit application submitted
  • PRN Status – Accredited with EA in UK in 2023
